User feedback regarding Mixing Station IOS with Allen & Heath QU mixers
Open, WishlistPublic

Description

Just downloaded this app and am very impressed from first impressions! Looks like it has an offline editor!?? From my very short time comparing Mixing Station vs QU-PAD my thoughts are :-

Plus

1/ Offline Editor!?
2/ Customisable channel strip colours
3/ Customisable layout
4/ Longer faders easier to adjust
5/ Meter bridge
6/ Pop up panning slider easier to adjust

Cons

1/ FX processors use the same GUI for all the different processors instead of the different corresponding A&H GUI’s which can make it hard to tell which processor you’re you’re using or editing.
2/ The A&H QU-Pad app bares a much stronger resemblance to the layout of the actual mixers and is more intuitive to use
3/ HPF isn’t as obvious if it’s turned on or off
4/ Colour schemes make some text harder to read
5/ Mute button enable a little confusing at first

My biggest suggestion/request is to have different GUI’s for the various different FX modules please. I would love to have some slicker and clearer colour schemes with slightly bigger text labels. I would also love to have a much clearer indicator to show when the PEQ, GEQ and HPF is turned on or off along with being able to view the GEQ’s on one screen without having to swipe through?
Looking forward to trying out Mixing Station on some shows!

Regards
Richard

The layout is completely configurable. Arrange it how you like.
I made a layout that's probably closest to Behringer's X-Air iPad app, and I use it on X32, X-Air, and Qu.
I have a column of 1-button SOF selectors down the right side, layout selectors across the top left, and knobs for selected channel HP, comp threshold, and gain, top right.

Mute button enable a little confusing at first

I disabled the mute enable, since I always want it enabled. Mute is enabled in settings.

The next update will also include a "scale" button in the geq menu to allow resizing the geq to fullscreen
